Changes to the dataset, the API, and its terms — newest first.
Correction to the entry below: when it was published, the OpenAPI schema and the field tables still described fields the payload did not carry, and the free-tier rate limit was not yet stated identically everywhere. As of today: schema v2 ships a stable id, fundType, perPersonMax, and currency on every record; fundNum carries total funds only; deadlines with no announced date are null with deadline_status "tbd" (previously the sentinel 9999-12-31); the closed-settlements archive is published (66 settlements, 2026); Canadian settlements are published as settlements-ca.json in CAD; the OpenAPI spec is generated from the baked payload; the free-tier rate limit is 100 requests per 60 seconds per IP; and an API quality gate runs before every publish. Dataset: 279 open settlements, $5.98B in published settlement funds (aggregate records only).
Dataset figures single-sourced from the live dataset across the site (259 settlements, $5.83B tracked). API terms restated: the dataset and free API tier are published under CC-BY 4.0 with attribution. Free-tier rate limit stated once, everywhere: 100 requests per minute per IP. OpenAPI spec regenerated from the live payload (all public endpoints, payload-accurate schema, error responses). Corrections log and status page published.
Dataset reached 259 open settlements. The settlements payload carries proof_enum, proof_verbatim, and tier_cap fields; the field table on /api/ documents them.
